Shuck n' Taste
LADY OYSTER
SHUCKING
MASTER THE ART OF
It's a day of learning new skills and enjoying Maine flavors!
Along the waterfront docks of West Point, our friends at Maine Oyster Company will showcase their oyster farm practices. From seed, to cages, to table, you'll have a beginner's dive into the world of Maine aquaculture.
Then, it's time to learn a primal skill! The team will teach you how to shuck oysters. You'll get to "cull" your own oysters, pick your top 6 beauties, and learn how to open them. We'll provide the oyster knives and hand protection!
After the shucking lesson, you'll finish the afternoon with a relaxing oyster and wine tasting, led by Virginia, an Oyster Sommelier. Over the next 1-1.5 hours, you'll taste and savor a variety of Maine oyster farms, paired with delicious accoutrements, wines, and homemade focaccia.
